Network marketing is not as easy as the term may implicate. It certainly is not as simple as marketing in a network, but rather, network marketing involves a lot of strategies, knowledge and dedication. One of the benefits of being involved in the network marketing industry is that you do not have to limit yourself to any singular business or program! Once you have gained enough experience from your first network marketing program and have grown your network to an extent where it is profitable, you do not have to continue to limit yourself to that network. You can expand to other network marketing programs and even bring parts of your previous network with you.

Practice your network marketing spiel in front of a mirror. Do you look nervous? Do you sound like you're lying? If what you're saying is true, you should feel comfortable. If there is something that makes you look less than honest when you say it, then don't say that! Stick to the things that make you proud of your business.

In network marketing, the initial pitch is very important, but the follow-up pitch is where you're going to land most of your customers. When you follow up with a person, you're showing them that this is a legitimate opportunity you're willing to invest the time and effort in, so they'll be more comfortable doing so themselves.

Learn the Product in your network marketing business. You must learn everything there is to know about the product, know it inside and out. As you learn about your product, become excited about it. Because if you cannot get excited about it, how are you going to persuade anyone else to be enthusiastic about it?

Monitoring your network marketing downline is hugely important. If you see someone under performing, ask them if they need any help or advice. If someone drops off entirely, maybe they just need some motivation to get back on track. You need to be a mentor to the people below you to ensure they're making you profits as well as themselves.

Don't overwhelm yourself with potential contacts. Focus on about ten names at a time. This will allow you to give each contact the personal attention needed to recruit them into your network, without needing to devote your entire life to recruiting. Your list will grow faster than you make connections, but that's okay.

Cold calling is a great way to increase the number of leads you have for network marketing, but your list shouldn't be TOO cold. Try to find people who already have an interest in the field you're in, or who come recommended by others. Just calling out of the phone book is highly unlikely to gain you any leads.

Keep track of all your network marketing strategies and compare the statistics to see which work, and which don't. What you want to see is which strategies are costing the least to convert eyeballs to leads. For example, it costs you $10 for your monthly online classified ad strategy, and it's bringing you three leads per month which all convert to sign-ups. It costs $50 for the same number of leads from posting the same ads in local papers. Therefore, it's probably best to ditch the paper route and stick to online ads only.

Always look for new marketing strategies. With new technologies, businesses are constantly finding new ways to reach out to their audience. Keep a close watch on what the concurrence is doing. Perhaps you can use a small panel of customers to try out new methods. Experience with new technologies as much as possible.

Reach out to your customers thanks to social networking websites. Create a good profile that offers a lot of details about your products. Post updates regularly about your new products or events you are attending or organizing. Make as many friends as possible. Use all the popular networking sites and any new sites.
