You Should Know About Search Engine Marketing

For those who don't know anything about it, Search Engine Marketing is basically the art of marketing products online based on the so-called keyword conversation. If that sounds rather cryptic to you, allow us to explain.



With Search Engine Marketing, you need to know what a searcher is expecting when he or she types a keyword, build web pages around those keywords relevant to what the searcher is expecting and then making those web pages rank on Google. Can you make money with Search Engine Marketing?

We're not going to tell you which one you should do first as both have their own sets of advantages and disadvantages. With Search Engine Optimization, there are free ways to do it, however, you will need to work on it with a few hours of your time. Also, the results are not guaranteed and it may take a few months before you can see any sales.

To get started, you need to have a website, a list of keywords you're targeting, content built around those keywords, and working knowledge on on-page SEO and off-page SEO. If you don't know anything about SEO, it basically means Search Engine Optimization and it's basically the art of making your website rank on Google for the keywords that you're targeting. Your content, no matter how good it is, is no good if it's not ranking on search engines.

The good thing about Search Engine Marketing is that it does not cost as much as online advertising to get started. You will need to be armed with the right knowledge though on how to build your websites and making them rank on search engines (also called Search Engine Optimization or SEO).

Buyer keywords are those search terms that have a brand name in them, for example, "buy Nikon 5900" or "Nikon 5900 review". To mine for these keywords, you can go to the Google Keyword Planner or use a paid keyword tool. You could also type a brand name on Google's search bar and take note of the suggested keywords. This can be a real life-saver.
