What Changes In The New Edition Of Empower Network?

By Dave Montell

Certainly there has been a great deal of chatter around "ENV2", which is the most recent update of the trendy internet affiliate marketing system, Empower Network.

To this point though, you might have had your email inbox deluged with email from Empower Network members informing you that something new was coming up, there hasn't been a lot of information about exactly what the improvements would be.

What's changing?

Empower Network customers will see a totally different product with ENV2. The whole system has been reorganized and the difference in look and functions are dramatic.

It is being heralded as the blog system that your Grandma could use. Well, I've never met your Grandma but these guys have clearly made things simpler from a blogging point of view.

The preceding edition was essentially just a replicating install of Wordpress, having the same Admin controls and settings. Although building a site through Wordpress is obviously more simple than creating it from square one employing raw coding, that was still far to complex for the typical guy to just dive in and begin using. I found the prior version to be fairly practical for Me but I've been setting up web sites for many years. I've watched many members come and wind up canceling just because they were not able to follow the technical factors of the program.

The administration and engineers at EN must have seen this since the ENV2 platform has turned out to be quite easy to use and much more simple than the initial version. Indeed, in roughly 5 years of blogging I haven't found other blogging platforms which are as easy to use.

People logging in to blog now will see four large icons at the top of their Control panel. One, a pen icon. Another, a video icon. Another, an audio icon. And the fourth being an image icon. No matter what you want to publish, click the appropriate icon. Then a simple couple fields ask you for the relevant data, whether you are choosing to upload your details or post from a different place on the internet.

If there is some way to make such a thing any easier for the average person, I sure wouldn't know what it is .

With the new version they have taken out the "text" editor and left just the visual editor for making edits to the content of a post. It is reasonable that those who are clever with code and who like to make their blog posts more sophisticated and extra special attributes like countdown timers or contact forms within the post body might find this to be excessively limiting, yet for the average member I'm confident this is a relief to not have to dig through a bunch of code which does nothing more than perplex such people.

The smart-phone mobile app is perhaps the main "gadget" offered by this all new update. The app is designed to offer people the ability to promote their business without needing to be sitting in front of their computer. Examples are shown of individuals recording a video using their smart-phone, then with a single click, uploading that video and posting it to their Empower Network blog. Easy. Fast. Seems really neat right? The catch is that one would need to be a subscriber to of the Empower Network video hosting service in order to make this work. It's an extra service and more overhead certainly, but it does prevent YouTube deleting your videos that you worked so hard on.

The option to embed videos into your blog posts just using an embed code or just a YouTube URL still maintains. Most would most probably just use YouTube yet they should understand that YouTube isn't made for business people to employ for marketing purposes. There is continuously a risk of having all your videos deleted which might be painful to your earnings. Many more savvy marketers will already be using their own video hosting and that can be embedded too. Yet the idea was to have the EN blog perform in tandem with the Empower Network video hosting, making everything fast and smooth to publish video blogs.

One's capacity to customize will be somewhat restricted by the changes, as the simplicity is the emphasis and in order to simplify some function was consequently diminished. One would have to determine for themselves whether this has any applicability to their business.

Precisely, when you choose to add an image to a blog post it takes merely two clicks. You don't have to fool with specifying the size of the image, or the alignment. The image will by default be sized to meet the breadth of the content area.

Another unique transformation: When members log in to ENV2 they will now see their social activity feed which includes the recent posts posted by other EN members.

With any new post that you create now you can choose to have an extract of that post made available to groups of your choosing within their Activity Feed. Each new post may be made available to all people in your EN team or just to specific levels of membership. This could be beneficial for those people who desire to have exclusive content reserved for a specific membership level, or when the content is only applicable to certain membership levels.

One can also click a button and grab any of the posts that they discover in their activity feed and the new system will quickly post the same to your own blog. Simple sharing. Simple curation.

In general the developments for ENV2 are good and certainly in the direction of simplicity for the convenience of the normal person.
